Strength Training Workout

Get fit this fall with strength training. Strength training protects your joints and makes you stronger overall, enabling you to endure and perform at greater levels. This class is a segment of Anita's original Strength & Spirit Workout. It has ben revised to focus on strength training, flexibility, and your individual core workout. This class is particularly good for sports training, but is a terrific workout for anyone looking to be strong and healthy - beginner to advanced.

Pilates: Core Strength & Balance

All are welcome, whether you are at a beginner, intermediate or advanced level. There is consistent, clear verbal cueing given in this class and move modifications will be provided to meet your individual needs. This class focuses on strengthening your "powerhouse" and gaining balance by performing multi-level excercises within your individual abilities. You'll also enjoy a range of motion movements and resistance work that enhances joint and bone health. Experience the benefits of developmental and relaxation stretching. Bands, wights, 6" and 9" balls are supplied. Please bring your own mat. Join us for 1 class or buy in bulk and come when you can! This class follows the Winchester school schedule. Vinyasa Yoga

Learn where your body holds tension and anxiety, and how to listen and release. Tune into the path of mindfulness of breath, thoughts, and movement, while you focus on the blending of the asanas (postures) with the pranyana (breath). The process begins slowly, allowing us time to review technique and awaken the body memory. Class will increase in intensity as we build on the practice as a whole. Meditation will be incorporated into this class.

Gentle Yoga Meditation

It is believed that there lies within each of us a supreme consciousness of untapped intelligence and unlimited potential. Finding this awareness begins by settling into the present moment with all of our undivided attention, open hearts and non-judgement. Practicing present moment attention is the focal point of this class. We will begin by entwining our sacred breath with gentle and even movements to relieve stress taht may be trapped within the body. The breath will guide us deeper as we prepare ourselves for meditation, allowing ourselves to fully surrender and open ourselves to the miracle of ture healing.

Ukrainian Egg Decorating

These uniquely decorated, hollowed-out eggs are beautiful to display all year 'round. They can easily be made into ornaments as well. The dye is permanent, so dress accordingly. Please bring six clean, room temperature, raw eggs.
For all ages; those under 12, please come with an adult.

Belly Dancing
Instructor: Miss Susan Maiolo
Belly dancing provides a great cardio workout and helps increase flexibility and strength. It focuses on the torso or "core muscles", and also builds leg strength. In addition, the veil work involved in belly dancing helps build arm, shoulder, and upper-body strength. Belly dancing is suitable for all body types and is only as intense as you choose it to be. In addition to its obvious health benefits, it's fun too! Students should purchase 2 1/4 yds. x 45-54" wide nylon chiffon for veil work. Finger cymbals may be purchased from the instructor for $8. Bring a floor mat or large towel for floor stretches.

Shall We Dance?

If you ever wanted to dance like Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Richard Gere, and Jennifer Lopez, now's your chance. Six-week ballroom, swing, and latin dance sessions at your own pace with individual attention. Partners not necessary! Shine at your next social event. Wear leather-soled shoes so that the foot can slide and avoid injury.
