Family Fishing Class

Instructor: Ed Tellier

Have you always wanted to learn to fish and never seemed to find the time?  Want to teach your children to love this age old sport? Join our DEP Certified CARE Instructor and learn about methods, gear, safety, sportsmanship, and how and where to catch your own fish. Practice casting and tying knots. Fishing is a great way to enjoy the outdoors while you get away from the stresses of modern technology and get some exercise. This class will start you out and show you how. All equipment is provided. The class is free but lunch and refreshments will be available for $5 per person.

All ages, children must accompany an adult

Mommy and Me Gym Time

Instructor: NHR

Open gym time for parents and pre-schoolers to spend some quality playtime together. Visit with other parents while your children play together. Social time is important for everyone. Mats & soft balls will be available.

Fall Baking

Fall is a great time for baking! Come whip up an apple pie from scratch, a Jack-o-lantern cake, and a chocolate snack mix. All baking supplies supplied, bring an apron if you'd like.

All Sorts of Puppets

Instructor:  Donna Smith

Create show-stopping performances with handcrafted puppets! We will make puppets from paper, balloons, boxes, tubes, bags, socks and more! Design animals or your own unique characters. Some will be kits, others you can design any way you like.  All supplies and fun accessories are included.

Candy Time of Year

Think you're too old to 'Trick-or-Treat' but still want the candy? Or maybe you just want MORE! Come and make your own candy and sweets: sticky sweet apples, 'monster munch', lollipops and more. All supplies included, come prepeared for the kitchen, bring an apron if you like.

Mushin-Do Karate

Holiday Fun

Get prepared for the holidays early! Bring home cards, wrapping paper, bags and boxes designed with stamps, stickers, stencils, fun borders, too many accessories to mention. Bring your creativity, everything else is provided.

Holiday Decorations and Gifts

Join us making unique ornaments, holiday decorations, and small gifts. There will be ceramics, jewelry, frames, ornaments from kits, and others to design yourself. Sitting snowmen, Santa spoons, cardboard standing reindeer, and much more. You will go home with fun stuff created by you!

Ukrainian Egg Decorating

Instructor: Donna Smith

These uniquely decorated, hollowed-out eggs are beautiful to display all year 'round. They can easily be made into ornaments as well. The dye is permanent, so dress accordingly. Please bring six clean, room temperature, raw eggs.

For all ages; those under 12, please come with an adult.

Little Bear Gym Time

Little Bear Gym, Inc. (privately licensed and insured), Northwest Connecticut's premier indoor play facility, is offering a discounted membership rate to residents of New Hartford. At Little Bear Gym, the grown-ups play along with their children (5 and younger). The facility is carpeted with plenty of mats to help children to crawl, walk, run and climb. The play classes combine structure with free play. Sessions run Monday-Saturday mornings for 3 months.  Regular rates are $180 for one child and $270 for families with more than one child.  Check out the special New Hartford rates below!
